Albuquerque

We drove to Albuquerque for a long weekend to visit my sister, Sarah, and her family and enjoy Balloon fiesta. We had a long drive down and an even longer drive back home. While there, we hiked, chased balloons, hiked some more, went to the "Glow-de-o", played a lot and laughed a lot. Here are some of my favorite things from the trip...

1. Caravaning down with Betsy and Russ (even though we learned that we are much better, more law abiding citizens than them)

2. Reading most of "Catching Fire" aloud to Kendall in the car while he drove.

3. Making oreo ice cream cake with Sarah's spring form pans. Betsy, Russell and I made some fast alterations that made it even better.

4. The kids played great together! Sam didn't spill any gasoline in the garage this time, which is also a plus.
5. Watching Brynn be such a great buddy to Luke.

6. Trying to hike a hill made of big boulders with Brigg strapped on my front. Surprisingly hard.

7. Playing "Compatability" after the kids went down to bed. Kendall and I won by a mile, I might add...definitely the most compatible couple. :)

8. Crossing the train tracks and going over a barbed wire fence to get to the field where a hot air balloon just landed. Kendall and Russell helped turn the balloon and move it down the field a ways and then we watched them take it down.

9. Hiking "tent rocks", except for the last 20 minutes or so, especially when we were at the top with cliffs surrounding us. Not fun. Not fun for me. But, really, the hike was cool and had tons of fun climbing spots for the kids.

10. The tarantula at our picnic spot in Tent Rocks.

11. Having Sam tell us about 10 times on our way home that he thought we should move to Albuquerque. He had a great time and was so sad to leave Jared.
Thanks, Sarah and Scott, for hosting us all! It was a great trip!

if there are tarantulas having free reign around there, I don't think I'll ever visit N.M.

Looks like you had a fun time! That tarantula is giant! Ben would have screamed like a girl.
