Flaming Marshmallow Vs. Sam's Eye

This is the scene of the crime, just minutes before it happened...

They were roasting marshmallows, setting them on fire and then blowing them out.  One time, Luke had a flaming marshmallow and Sam bent over to blow Luke's out and *boom* flaming marshmallow and Sam's eye collide.  My Dad had a water bottle handy and I quickly squirted the eye and cleaned off the charred marshmallow. Sam was screaming. After we got it cleaned off, we got a look at it and it didn't seem like his eyeball had been affected and the burn didn't seem too deep. Mom gave him a stack of napkins cooled with a piece of ice in them and he sat down and kept that on his eye the rest of the night. By morning, he was running around like it didn't happen.
This is the next morning.  Notice the burn down into his freckles, around the side of his eye/bridge of his nose and up on his eyelid.

I took him to the doctor Monday morning and he gave us a prescription for an antibiotic ointment the is safe for the eye. We put it on four times a day and also took him to the eye doctor, to be sure.  It looks like we were right and his eyeball is fine. His vision is fine and it isn't deep enough to worry about scarring affecting his eye or vision.
After about 6 days.
9 days....looking so good!
And notice the teeth....he lost 3 in about a week!

We're very glad that it all turned out okay!

Who knew a marshmellow could be so dangerous! Glad his eye is okay. Where did you go camping?

Those moments are so scary aren't they? So glad no real harm done. Gosh, I hope the tooth fairy is well prepared at your house!
