How we spent the last day of the world...

We had a busy day and I almost forgot that it was supposed to be our last one on Earth (according to the Mayans).  I have to say, if I had to plan my last day on Earth, I think it would have gone just like this....

It's an off Friday for Kendall, so he made a delicious breakfast for us all.  We ate together at the table while Luke and Sam made cards for their teachers.  After sending them off on the bus, we got ready and drove to the school for the Kindergarten Christmas program.  Luke was adorable...knew most of the words to the songs and even helped a small group of kids list off the reindeer's names at the start of "Rudolph".  It felt a little like a ward party with all of the other kids in the ward that are in Kindergarten together.

Later, we split up and Kendall and Brigg went out to do some shopping.  Luke, Dodge and I went to the gym, picked up some lunch and then relaxed at home for a while.  Luke and I wrapped up his Christmas gift for his brothers (we had to redo the one for Dodge since it didn't turn out the first time).  Sam got home from school and played with his buddy, Scott, for a while.  Then, we worked on hand sewing the holes in the little pillows he made for his brothers. He was begging me to teach him how to sew (??). So, we decided on pillows for the Christmas present this year. He must have said 10 times how fun he thought sewing was.  I think he likes how fast he can make the sewing machine go and how hand sewing allows him to handle a sharp object. :)

Once we were all back home, we wrapped up and headed into the city for our traditional meal at the Gandolfos on Main Street.  This was the 9th year that we have done this!  It's getting more and more expensive to feed us all there, but we're always able to get our table by the window and it's always a good time.  :)

This year, we saw something called the "Jingle Bus" and decided to take a ride.  This was a bus that looked like a trolley.  It gave a free, educational ride around the city in a half hour loop.  It was fun to learn somethings that we didn't know and get a nice, warm, free little ride around.

 We walked around a bit and looked at a huge Christmas Tree and people ice skating on the outdoor rink.

Then, it was home and jammies and staying up a little late watching a Christmas movie.

I'd say, if the Mayans were right, this would have been a perfect last day on Earth.

 Though, I'm glad I get lots and lots more like it instead.
