Anniversary Trip

For our anniversary this year, Kendall planned an extended weekend trip to LA.  His mom took the boys and showed them a great time. Thank you!

We didn't leave until late afternoon, so we stopped in Las Vegas and stayed the night. Our car told us it was 114 degrees still at 9:42PM! Crazy! We stopped by Gold and Silver Pawn shop from the reality show on tv.  In the morning, we ate at Hash House a Go Go and shared the meal that was featured on Man vs. Food.  It was gigantic and delicious! Fried mashed potatoes with biscuits, bacon, cheese, tomato and a fried chicken breast on top all covered in a delicious chipotle gravy. Wow!

 

The weather in LA was awesome!  We walked around the canal streets in Venice and then rented some bikes and biked along the beach path and over to Santa Monica Pier where we rode the ferris wheel.  It was July 4th, so we made our way over to Marina Del Rey where we watched a firework show over the water.

 
The next day we did some looking around Hollywood and the walk of fame and all that.  At night, we walked along Redondo Beach which was near our hotel.  It was quiet and beautiful!

We awoke early the next morning to go get on a boat that took us out for some deep sea fishing.  When we got to a good spot, we all just dropped our lines in off the sides and let them unwind until they hit the bottom (about 200 feet down).  You then reel them in a few winds and wait.  Look at some of the cool fish we caught! Someone even caught an eel!  We had a big drive home, so we gave the fish we caught to our neighbors there. 

This was a great trip! It was short and sweet and full of fun. It's always fun hanging out with Kendall and getting a change of routine and scenery.
