Squash!

My sister, Betsy, and her husband, Russell, came up here to hang out last weekend. We had a ton of fun! I'm not sure why I didn't get more pictures...
We took a row boat, a canoe and an inflatable raft to Cutler Marsh. It's near our house, but we'd never been there. We just launched the boats at the little dock and rowed around in semi-narrow passes. Okay, so the row boat and the canoe did more of that than our raft. Our raft is slow. And we broke our already mostly pointless oars while in the marsh. And we had Brigg in our boat who only liked the event for about 2 minutes. So, we turned around and headed back before the others. It was a cool place, though, and we decided next time we'd rent a canoe to go.

While we were waiting for the canoe and row boat to return, Kendall kept himself busy by catching snakes and putting them into our raft. By the time the others got back he had 5 or 6 and the kids had a great time playing with them. As I understand it, Sam named his "Snakey" and was sad to let it go.

We are just full of adventerous things to do here in Logan. We just have so much to do, that we couldn't choose. Here is a picture of how Kendall and Russell ended up filling most of their night.

$1 to anyone who might be able to guess what's going on here...

That's right. That's a giant zucchini flying through the air and a large knife in Russell's hand. They started off just throwing the zucchini and squash up and trying to slice off a piece smaller than a 1/4" . That evolved into one person throwing the vegetable at the other person and trying to do a double slice (a slice through and then back) before it then hit the person or the floor. After that got old, they took a couple of baseball bats and headed into the backyard. I heard a lot of smacking and, at the end, our yard was full of little chunks of squash. Like I said, you just don't have to even come up with stuff to do here in Logan. There's just so many things ready to entertain you.

We're excited for another fun weekend starting tomorrow with 20 + people sleeping at our house, a book club, a triathlon, some food, an outdoor movie and a date.

Good luck with your race!! Man, Eagle Mtn. is boring compared to Logan. All we do with our veggies is eat them.

Good luck with the triathalon! We'll be thinking about you guys! The Lehi Community center actually does a triathalon training that goes for 10 weeks. Frank is thinking of taking it...you've inspired him Kendall! We miss you guys! We hope to close on our new home Friday.
